RDK
RDK(Ritter Des Kreuzes) was an Axis Clan around 2001-2003. It was formed of a group of highly skilled Axis vets who all shared a general attitude towards the game and were interested in developing the best strategies. At the time the Axis was split between the mighty Wolvesden, TDU, and JA. None of these clans was democratic and all had open recruiting. After the first and second Justice League rounds, a few JL members who preferred the company of each other and the free form nature of the League rather than the military oriented hierarchy of their current clans, decided to form RDK.
RDK members developed the very new early rank strat now standard in War2, as well as the meganuke variation of the strat. Controversy with the clan revolved around the perception that RDK members were egotistical and didn't train new players, however RDK members dispute this since RDK members were among the biggest contributors to the Axis War Effort site, which focused on distributing strats and advanced skills to players. RDK also provided the still used War2 Tools. The three RDK members who were moderators also annoyed clans without a single moderator.
After a few successful years, RDK played a single round as Allied in order to mix things up a bit. This enraged the Axis players who saw it as a betrayal, and using Carebear themed avatars and names added insult to injury. A round later, RDK left the acrimony of the Axis side and merged with NKVD to form UberClan, leading to one of the great sea changes in the balance of the two sides.
RDK was known for doing themed rounds, sometimes with secret numbers, sometimes without. Among the themes were naming themselves after McDonald's Extra Value Meals, the aforementioned Carebear theme, and 8-Bit Theater/Final Fantasy 1 character theme.
The era in which RDK was active is known as "The Age of Mardok", after a particularly awesome deity.
