The American Clan Ring (ACR) was formed back in the early days of Classic War 2, when Dark Entertainment (the original name of Cold Fire Studios) created the game. The ACR was formed by Dwight D Eisenhower. The clan quickly attracted members which would be the core of the clan for years to come, namely Rickenbacker and Rufious who together led the clan when Dwight fell to inactivity.

Over the years, with more experience the clan developed in to one of the leading Allied Clans of it's time, being one of the Power Three (before Elite changed sides) of the Allied side (The other two being MPSF and CWAP). Veterans filtered the ranks of the ACR, including: Bugg, Buller, Rolfus, Lord Whysper, Lister, Malaise, Sherpa, Stutter, Warshrike and Spook who were all trained up within the clan. These players formed the clan's core over many years, maintaining consistent high level play and presence in the high ranks of the game.

The ACR was a loosely organised clan, except for certain rounds where strategies were encouraged, the clan operated as a social gathering of Veterans who offered gamely advice to others. This style of play attracted then-legends (historic legends now) Eye, e, Regis, TerrorFox and Thomas between their times at NKVD and moving towards the UberClan.

During 2006/2007 the ACR was taken Axis and renamed the Axis Clan Ring by Rolfus, who acted against the wishes of the new leader Bugg (who was semi-retired by this point). He failed to achieve an ACR come back on the axis side, but the original ACR has slowly faded away...

A few still carry the ACR on their territory names in respect of the great clan but the ACR is a memory.
